SYNOPSIS

Alma Mater (Goodbye Dear Neighbor) is feature-length poetic documentary which captures the final semester of a 104 year old college. The film documents students, faculty, staff and the broader community of Pine Hills as they say goodbye to an institution which has provided an anchor for their community and for their lives. The film seeks to highlight the positive impact of Saint Rose on community members and to chronicle the experiences of individuals, small businesses and neighbors as they cope with the loss of this valued institution. The film explores deeper questions about the value of higher education in our changing times.
